Customer Service Advisor

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a team of Customer Service Advisor (s) on behalf of Luton Borough Council paying £14.59 per hour.

Main purpose of position

Working within the Customer Service Centre, you will provide information, advice and guidance to residents across a wide range of Council services. You will support customers via telephone, email and face-to-face contact, helping to resolve enquiries and promote online services.

As a Customer Service Advisor you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to customer enquiries, requests and complaints.
  • Providing advice and guidance on Council services.
  • Supporting customers to access online and self-service options.
  • Maintaining accurate records using Council systems.
  • Processing payments and supporting debt recovery activities.
  • Verifying customer information in line with data protection requirements.
  • Working with internal teams and external partners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Contributing to service improvements and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous customer service experience in a busy environment.
  • Experience handling complex enquiries and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage information.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work on a rota basis, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
  • Ability to work from alternative Council locations when required.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

You will be required to be in the office for training for 6 weeks of training, following on from training this role will offer hybrid working.
