Aviation Skills & Careers Hub Manager
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Aviation Skills & Careers Hub Manager to lead the delivery and development of the Aviation Skills & Careers Hub, helping residents access employment, training, and career opportunities within the aviation sector and wider economy.
Working with employers, education providers, community organisations, and public sector partners, you will develop and deliver initiatives that support workforce development, employability, and skills progression while contributing to local economic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation and strategic development of the Aviation Skills & Careers Hub.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, training providers, education organisations, and community groups.
- Develop and deliver employment, skills, and careers programmes that support residents into work, training, and progression opportunities.
- Manage Hub staff, resources, budgets, and performance outcomes.
- Organise careers events, employer engagement activities, and outreach initiatives.
- Monitor programme impact using data and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify and address barriers to employment, ensuring services are inclusive and accessible.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection requirements.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience leading skills, employment, careers, education, or workforce development programmes.
- Proven partnership-building experience across public, private, and voluntary sectors.
- Experience managing staff, projects, budgets, and performance targets.
- A track record of supporting individuals into employment, training, apprenticeships, or career progression opportunities.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Experience using data and insights to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
- Knowledge of workforce development, employability pathways, and inclusive engagement practices.
Desirable
- Experience within aviation, transport, local government, or other regulated sectors.
- Knowledge of apprenticeships, skills funding, and employer-led training programmes.
- Understanding of current and future aviation workforce needs.
- Careers Guidance, IAG, or Employability Practitioner qualifications.
Qualifications
A degree in a relevant subject area such as Education, Business Management, Public Administration, Community Development, or equivalent professional experience.
