A Landmark Achievement for Children's Services

One of the biggest success stories this year has been the fantastic news that Luton Children's Services has been rated "Good" by Ofsted, marking a significant milestone in the council's improvement journey. Inspectors highlighted the positive impact of the Families First for Children programme, strong leadership, improved outcomes for children and families, and the dedication shown by staff across the service. This achievement reflects years of hard work, commitment and partnership working. It's a testament to the social workers, managers, support teams and partner organisations who go above and beyond every day to improve the lives of children and young people across Luton.

Building Stronger Communities Through Adult Social Care

Adult Social Care continues to play a vital role in supporting residents across the borough. Despite increasing demand being felt across the sector nationally, teams in Luton remain focused on delivering person-centred, strengths-based support that promotes independence and wellbeing.

From occupational therapy and social work to commissioning and care management, staff continue to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to helping residents achieve the best possible outcomes.

Celebrating Excellence Across the Council         

Another highlight this year was the Luton Excellence Awards (LEx Awards), which celebrated the outstanding contributions of council employees and  partners while recognising collaboration, innovation and dedication to residents.
